BURSAGAZ'S 2ND CONSULTATION AND EVALUATION MEETING WAS CONDUCTED IN KUŞADASI

Bursagaz held its second annual Consultation and Evaluation Meeting, inagurated in 2011 in Antalya, from January 26-29, 2012 in Kuşadası with the participation of the Bursagaz management team, EWE AG's Head of Department of Foreign Business Frank Quante and Group Director of Foreign Business Arzu Utku.

The meeting commenced with the keynote address by Bursagaz General Manager Ahmet Hakan Tola and proceeded under his chairmanship. Evaluations of the previous year, targets and respective performance in 2011 and the new objectives for 2012 were discussed.

Bursagaz structured its corporate scorecard application under strategic management planning and main strategies with three main goals: to increase corporate reputation, to increase corporate performance and to manage corporate risks. Implementing the corporate scoreboard application developed this year under strategic planning operations, Bursagaz facilitated monitoring of the key performance indicators by electing to separate planning perspectives on a process basis. In the meeting, objectives and targets that were gradually transferred from the corporate scoreboard into the department scoreboard were discussed and projects and their effects on work plans were evaluated. Through various workshops conducted during the meeting, in which the company's short, medium and long-term strategies and targets were evaluated, a process of maximum sharing and dialogue among the participants was encouraged. During the workshop discussion of Bursagaz's 2012 strategic structuring, participants shared their opinions on projects slated to be executed in the coming year while motivation platforms were included in the evaluation in order to provide a more efficient management of processes. On the second day of the event, a workshop was organized to identify the weakest and most powerful aspects of directorates by other directorates and within different units. Therefore, each department had the opportunity to ascertain how they are perceived by other departments and to receive constructive criticism on improvements to be made.

EWE AG's Dr. Frank Quante gave a speech on the second, equally productive day of the meeting and expressed his gratification for the overall meeting, warm Turkish hospitality, the scope of the operations and projects, and his satisfaction with the results from 2011 and the projects and objectives set forth for 2012. Further, he congratulated Bursagaz General Manager Ahmet Hakan Tola and the entire Bursagaz team. Dr. Quante stated that companies in Turkey are of great importance for EWE AG and that the company strongly values its relationships with Turkey and Turkish people. After addressing strategies for 2012, Dr. Quante concluded his remarks by extending his gratitude to Bursagaz in Turkish.

The 2023 vision for Bursagaz was given special prominence on the agenda at this comprehensive meeting. As part of the discussions of the 2023 vision, a workshop was conducted in which the participating personnel were divided into groups and asked to turn their theoretical ideas into tangible models constructed from various materials (e.g. plastic cups, straws) that were provided. These Bursagaz personnel expressed their skills in creativity and group work by producing complex models which they presented to the other groups by the end of the session. Bursagaz General Manager Ahmet Hakan Tola took the floor, congratulated the teams and expressed his pleasure at once again witnessing the determination, broad vision and creativity of his team members as evidenced in this workshop.

Following the workshop, 28 special, non-routine projects were discussed that are slated to be realized in 2012--some seasonal and some lasting the entire duration of the year--by Bursagaz. The overall scopes, purposes and completion dates of the projects were clearly established and the meeting was concluded with a general evaluation that shared the feedback and suggestions of the meeting attendees. Later, the Bursagaz family gathered together for a celebrational dinner, cutting of the cake and time for socializing. The efficient but simultaneously warm and collaborative meeting concluded on January 29, 2012 with a team visit to the ancient city of Ephesus, for an enjoyable day of sightseeing accompanied by a tour guide.
